David is co-founder and CEO of BMC. Since 2008, David has been personally involved in investing in small business to lower middle market as well as venture capital. David took a hands-on approach in all of his investments, including specifically the areas of finance and operations. David has served on the Board of all of his holdings, including being Chairman of the Board of one holding that has eclipsed $50 million in annual revenue. David is also the co-founder and Shareholder of BMC’s sister firm, Brixey & Meyer, Inc. Brixey & Meyer is a regional CPA and business advisory firm with offices in Dayton, Cincinnati and Columbus, Ohio. David co-founded the firm in 2002. Brixey & Meyer is recognized as a leading provider of accounting and business advisory services in the region.
Claude is the Managing Director of BMC with responsibility for management of the Portfolio Companies and staff of the firm. He is also Chairman of First Financial Bancorp and First Financial Bank. Previously, he served as Executive Chairman from April 2018 to December 31, 2019 and CEO of the company from October 2004 until April 2018. With over 150 offices and 2,000 employees, First Financial is a $14 billion dollar bank headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio with operations in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. Claude served on the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland’s board of directors from January of 2013 to December of 2018.
Patrick is the Director of Strategy and M&A at BMC. At BMC, Patrick’s responsibilities include due diligence, deal structuring, and deal sourcing, as well as working with business partners and portfolio companies to foster growth and return for all stakeholders.
Prior to the launch of BMC, Patrick consulted on various transactions for many of Brixey & Meyer’s clients on the buy-side and sell-side. He also spent seven years at Ernst & Young LLP (“EY”). During the latter four years at EY, Patrick worked in EY’s transaction advisory practice consulting on buy-side and sell-side transactions for strategic and financial buyer on deals ranging from $10 million to over $2.8 billion. Industry experience in these transactions includes consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, government contracting, healthcare and food services.
As an Associate with BMC, Evan works closely with portfolio companies around business strategy, financial decision making and project management. Before joining BMC, Evan worked as a consultant with Willis Towers Watson in San Francisco, CA following graduation from Claremont McKenna College.
As the Director of Human Resources for BMC, Karen oversees the HR initiatives and compliance at our portfolio companies. In addition, she provides consulting and resources to leadership and management within our portfolio, to bring forth best practices and initiatives which support the strategic and operational growth of our companies. Karen has extensive experience in employee engagement, organizational development and has had a progressive career in HR for over 20 years. She has experience working within a variety of industries which include: manufacturing, retail, logistics and distribution as well as sales organizations.
Jacob is a Staff Analyst at BMC. His responsibilities will include providing support with a variety of general financial activities including accounting support, forecasting, cash flow analysis and financial analysis of portfolio company results. In addition, Jacob will support the team with special projects for BMC and Portfolio companies under the direction of the Director of Finance. Jacob is a recent graduate of The George Washington University.
Brian works closely with portfolio company leadership teams to develop and implement best practices, strategies, forecasts/budgets, and compensation plans within the Sales & Marketing departments. Before joining the BMC team, Brian has spent 25-plus years as a VP of Sales and Marketing for Manufacturing, Service, Distribution, and E-commerce companies within the Fortune 500. Brian was Honorably Discharged from the United States Marine Corps as a Sergeant after serving in Desert Shield/Storm. Brian received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton and his M.B.A. from Wright State University, concentrating on Marketing and Management.
As General Counsel, Jordan is responsible for handling all aspects of M&A transactions for BMC, as well as managing all of BMC’s legal matters, including corporate governance, business transactions, contract drafting, negotiation and process administration, development of internal and external policies and procedures, risk management, and regulatory compliance. Prior to joining BMC, Jordan served as Corporate Counsel for Health Carousel where she focused on employment law and its intersection with taxation, corporate compliance, commercial contracts, and mergers & acquisitions, including closing three, multi-million-dollar acquisitions in 2020. Jordan received a bachelor’s degree in English and Political Science from Vassar College and her law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
Peter’s responsibilities include due diligence, deal structuring, deal sourcing, and portfolio management. He also assists with BMC’s portfolio companies’ various strategic initiatives. Prior to joining BMC, Peter was an investor at Rev1 Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm in Columbus, Ohio. During his time with Rev1, Peter completed more than 30 investments and invested more than $10 million of capital. Before Rev1, Peter started his career with Fifth Third Bank in their Leveraged Finance group in Charlotte, NC. There he assisted with the underwriting process for leveraged buyouts, dividend recapitalizations, and sponsor-backed refinancings for companies of $5 million of EBITDA or more in a variety of industries.
Jay is the Director of Finance of BMC with responsibility for Fund administration and accounting, banking, cashflow management and investor reporting. In addition, Jay serves as a resource for portfolio company accounting and finance issues and manages the shared services across all funds. Prior to joining BMC, Jay served in CFO and Controller roles over the past 20 years, across a wide array of industries: banking, manufacturing, professional services, real estate development and retail operations. In these financial leadership roles, Jay has worked in both privately-held and publicly-traded companies; partnering with senior management teams to generate topline growth and improve profitability.
Katie works closely with our portfolio companies and their leadership teams. As an HR manager, and part of the Human Resources team at BMC, Katie assists in the coordinating of benefits, career counseling/outplacement, employee retention and recruiting efforts, employee relations, organizational development, and project management. Prior to joining BMC, Katie worked as the director of Human Resources for a midsized company in the transportation industry.
